Jacob Presson is a New York-based actor, writer and teaching artist.
Jacob grew up in Wilton, Connecticut, where he realized he was terrible at sports, converted to theatre, and never looked back.
Most notably, Jacob has appeared in Fuck Marry Kill (New Ohio Theatre/Less Than Rent); Our Town (Green-Wood Cemetery, Theatre Under the Moonlight); Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare on the Sound); and Tailspin! (NYC Fringe). Various developmental workshops and readings include Playwrights Horizons, Gingold Theatrical Group, Youngblood/EST, The Bridge Production Group, The Bowery Poetry Club and The Pantry Reading Lab.
As a playwright, his critically acclaimed play, Very Bad Words, was presented to sold out audiences at the NYC Fringe Festival of 2013 and, subsequently, with The Semicolon Theatre Company, NYC. His work has been developed with BZ genesis WORKS at Playwrights Horizons, The Pantry Reading Lab and Wide Eyed Productions Seven Deadly Winks Reading Series at The Drama League.
Jacob is a proud company member of Less Than Rent Theatre, of which his brother, James Presson, is co-artistic director. A graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, he holds certificates from The British American Drama Academy (BADA), in Oxford, and New York Stage and Film/Powerhouse Theatre, at Vassar College.
